I first heard Charlie Zahm at the 1997 Oatlands Celtic Festival, which was the name of the Potomac Celtic Festival when it was held at the Oatlands Plantation (a much nicer location, by the way). I was impressed by his strong baritone voice and his dedication to his craft. Charlie usually ends his performances with a goofy but entertaining pitch for his CD's. Last year, he was trying to raise money for shoes for his newborn child. This year, the cause was ransom money for his mother who was being held in a Turkish prison. Well I guess it must have worked on me, I bought two of his CD's each time. You can find Charlie's performance schedule at his web site.
Damon Hersh, Lynn Cunningham, Darcy Nair, Jennifer Bell, Craig Williams, and Brad Howard are the Pyrates Royale. They would like to stress that they do not endorse drinkin', fightin', smokin', carousin', lambada dancin', keel haulin', ouija board usin', or anything else ending with "n".
From New Orleans, the Poor Clares are Betsy McGovern, Justin Murphy, Elmon Randolph, & Beth Patterson. You can read about them, learn about their recordings, and find their performance schedule at their web site.
My back hurts just lookin at these guys...
My fans would complain if I didn't include these shots!
My wife would complain if I didn't include this shot!
