One of the things we enjoy doing when we are in Tuscany is hanging out in the town square of Greve. Greve is smack dab in the middle of the Chianti Classico district. During the second weekend of September, Greve hosts the largest wine festival in Chianti. We attended the festival in 1998, and at the mid-day break on the first day, we sat down for a nice lunch in the town square. Expecting to be waited on by a local, a fellow with a New York accent put the bread down on our table and started describing the day's specials. His name was Kenneth Katz, and he and his wife Jeannette were spending the summer in Italy. They started in Milan where they took in the Fashion Week (they are now starting a clothing design company in Miami), and then worked their way down the boot, spending a few weeks in Tuscany. The following week, we ran across the Katz's again at the Panzano Wine festival, where I snapped these pictures of them.
